Fun, Market Request and/or Soul Searching Manuscript?

What is happening w/ Purple Goat pub, LLC this week? Plans include getting some audio, audio/text in gear. Also the office nearly always needs sorting/organizing and digitalized. We have nearly fifteen different projects that are on the agenda outside of direct manuscripts of ebooks. This means ebook covers, workshops, score/audio(MP3/CD) projects, organizing the art files (hard copy/digital), experimental photography from original fine art, YouTube/podcast projects (Notice our first YouTube; Klezmer Todd McCormick, Ciara, Matt 5:33), comedy troupe regrouped (Basement Youtube Comedy Troupe), social media marketing (ten steps to getting the product to the proper market, what not), art projects (ink, oils, charcoal, wc, acrylic; recently interviewed a model last week), yoda, yoda, yoda. The writing projects are straining at the reins. Hence the title of this week's blog; a fun manuscript (a spoofy, fun sci-fi), a strongly focused market "want," say; our journal of an electronic publishing business for our first full year, and finally a deep dive into the soul-searching personal journal of a member of International Mensa (happening in the person's early thirties) a creative; artist, musician, writer, mathematician (for a short gig w/Cleveland NASA, KennaMetals, and twenty years part/time w/ an engineering/surveying firm). The music compositions under the tutoring of J. Ferrito, MM, Yale (who teaches his tutees to teach themselves) hit the mega-project of 19 composed CDs and three studio flamenco works-CDs w/ other audio projects totalling twenty-four hours of original music from 1995-2015. Scores are to be available on pdf and or some such (CD/MP3). Hence a derivative from this week's title; It is looking like a dilemma of multi-tasking. We have enough work for quite some time. Do not get us wrong we still want what you got. Either to consult and/or design book covers w/ original art fairly priced, we can help. (Remember we have 50 mss. besides comps to edit/convert/format.) I last week interviewed a computer tech person to aid w/ formatting and other tasks. (You may have seen our first tech person passed on two summers ago, sadly, brilliant, full of potential along w/ promise. What about writing? Believe me, and it is quite evident. I multitask and laterally think way too much. The process (ah, process) of elimination yields the solution. Throw the fun stuff upfront on the screen, and keep "burn-out" from the job at bay, and go to town. (Side-note; Amy Winehouse is on the screen/YouTube. If you did not know, she has passed on. She was/is such a wonderful talent and due to change the music scene.)

There is a dilemma where we pose; Do we write what we want, first novel-usually an autobiography rather w/ and w/out intent, the "great American novel?" Do we write for an imaginary audience, real one, friends, family, general public, target tribe and/or academic circles. I believe if you are serious about writing, write the first book w/ no limitations for the love of writing. Then gear yourself to write for 10K hours. That is when the masters hit and still do settle into the mastery of their "sport." This is for artists and composers, list going on. My writing goal/schedule was 3-5 pp. a day. 2-3 hrs. either/or. I ay best wrote five days a week to start out. Later I found a 10a to 10p schedule in 2001 for Mondays as mandatory w/ other days in the week icing on the cake. So 10K hrs.? And take app. 15 hrs./week takes us to 50 weeks/yr. app. The resultant time frame is 750hrs/yr. to app. 15yrs. reaching the envelope for mastery. Of course one can increase the pages per week, et c. to bring nearer the mystical mastery hrs. You want to write? Just for today is sanity, serenity. If you want a formula, ... well, take it/leave/still please keep writing. Follow your bliss.

So, here I am at the keyboard think, my, and I do have a good number of blogs. Thinking in a committee of one, by a dangerous decision ... ? Choose 72 say for the entries, edit effectively, smooth out the "razor sharp granite flakes," and put together a manuscript. Like Ferrito would suggest; Teach yourself. W/ all support for finding roots/self/meaning in life we suggest here at Purple Goat, write. Return love w/ love. Return hate w/ love. Pretty much ... we return most things w/ love.
