Memorial Day 1996 was monumental to me as a writer. One of my earliest influences was forced into latent talent material culminated by the May Fourth 1970 Tragedy. I had been wearing chains about my neck to represent the oppression of the counter-counterculture. It was a manifestion of a destiny when I had the healthy opportunity to listen to Allen Ginsberg speak a few days from the 1996 (5757 on the Jewish Calenday given a band width perhaps, as a number theorist's/numerologist's perhaps "accident") Memorial Day @ Kent State University, twenty-six years from the incident there was still hope. It was an omen when the concertina was pulled out. It was a victory of a long battle for the "escape from 'freedom.'" What progress was made? What signs showed there was evidence that the counterculture had changed America for the better besides the unspoken homelessness, drug addiction, jails, institutions, and deaths. It was not only that former governor Rhodes failed @ getting "the hippies out of Kent" on the 1996 event of a cosmic Universe and a remembrance, a Pirke Avot, remembering those that came before us, allowed the moment to be turtles on top of turtles, we ride upon our ancestors' backs.

It was a paper trail that left some remnants, relics from the Movement. It was a Chasidic mindset tested. There was a string vibrating in the string theorists files that represents the events, the dream, the servile labour to the Cause. To make America, this earth, this world, One Universe a place of Creation and evolution of a humanist effort a place conducive to a Peace-full Environment. Spiirituality, a strength of law and faith, an Awareness of serendipity, harmony, defiant against Wrongs. Freedom to express one's life, advocacy, to speak out for an existence, a livelihood, a pursuit of righ livelihood and vocation screamed to the flesh tones of One Voice and Heterodoxy screamed urgently. To allow for freedom from oppression of minorities of all sorts and "measure" to allow for the Peace Movement to saturate the culture. It was an early move, a precursor, a sign of things to come in the stars, an astral projection of the progression from the Industrial Age, now evidently reiting hopefully gently into retirerment and a progressive work force coming into a new frontire of the Information Age and its responsibilities. Consequences of the unknown more obvious of the changes, an internal conflict in nations arising, a cry for the tribes to unite and make the necessary changes to allow the earth to flourish. To give back to the Universe the Energy, the gifts, that have been given, respected, acknowledged, Today we walk on the backs of our forefathers. Progeny and progenitors come to a union of mindsets, allowing for diversity, different not being wrong, differences not wrongs, and rightly progress, a product of a strength, strengths, a force, forces in the hearts known, making a measure of differences, distances travelled in a Movement that again has Life. To life. To life. Choosing life, "he not busy being born, is busy dying." Bob Dylan. Write on. Right on. Choosing life is not a fad. It is free. Free to being a fad. It is a way of life. A Way. A Path. A Journey of Recovery, Hope, and Destiny. Thank You. T.E. McCormick, M.A.
