Today as most weekends I sit back and see what I have done, have been involved, situations, events, people, money and things generally my goals; music, art, writing, computer, guitar/violin repair/making, reading, spirituality, health, relationships, business ("mine"), work (under someone else besides me to feed my business), money, budgeting, balancing BOOKS!, auto care, home/yardwork. There at times an odd event also. I am open-minded. I look back and dub them that they were good, "Wuzgudts" I call the exercise. Usually it is on a normal Friday nights. I got the idea from some Jewish literature. Hey, it works!
So I am covering thankfulness on a regular basis, where Turkey Day keeps me in check throughout the year as well. Guess what I have found? More is not better if you are at least thankful for who you know, what you have, money, things, ... in general your gratitude list is related to what comes into your life, and like J. Buffet sings, "Changes in latitude, ... " changes in gratitude. Exercise left to the student covering the possibilities, say "permutations" for a fancy word?
Well, I might be considering calling it unusual. Actually it is a well-grounded gain of progressive (executive) thinking skills applied to a healthy sense and viewpoint of where one is, to improve well-being, taking into consideration awareness of who is in your supportive writing group, say. ... and what is on your gratitude list. Call it Ischmael, call it an inventory, an appreciation of where you are in the present moment, and a guide with relative applications in one's projects, events, construction, meaningful activities, the job, dot, dot, dot. Dare say? Call it on rejoining the good kharma path for an Eastern religion definition? And enough said, phrases from other areas that sneak into our working vocabulary.
I am letting you loose. Get set, GO! Now make your gratitude list. It is the Next Right Move. "NRM." (Not National Record Mart.) Or even Right Move Now. RMN!!! "Go, go, go," as Amy Winehouse (dec. ) sang. Being grateful is a communal thing. Join a healthy tribe. Last time. .... Bye. And remember to tell a friend. Thank you so much.
