The Wall, Self-Care and Creativity

The Wall; Why? It needs rebuilt. What? My father has a century house. Who? My father and I have worked P/T at least together over twenty years. Now we are restoring a sandstone block wall that has seen the weather from the roots of the trees and expansion of frozen ground from 1863-4 on. About five, a few blocks have been dislodged. We currently have all but one regular, full-blown siz and a small, medium sized block to go plus more digging behind the wall replaced w/ "river stones" and/or such to help drainage and the expansion from frozen water. (Anyone remember high school chemistry et al that the two hydrogens of H2O are at an angle that expands making the water molecule play the outliar, id est where most things contract in th ecold and epand in heat, water expands when frozen. So like Tracy Chapman's song, "Fast Car" I am caring for my father into his eighties now. This might not sound like me. I am in the category of multiple intelligences, polyglot, polymath, gifted in intelligence (I have my minimal Mensa Int'l papers to prove it, plus my art, compositions, and writings beyond a forty-fifty minute test.) As Marty Yenko says, ... Gifted in intelligence fall outside the scope of the phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of none." We tend to truly be master of many (This is where I like strengths-based practices.) fields, areas. When I was young reading about D' Vinci, I chose when freedom from childhood would give me more freedom, I would study music, mathematics, climb, make art, be prolific in creative writing ("Series" had a nice sound to it, like baseball where my mother painted images of her and her siblings, her father. They would take some time from work on the farm, the former German orphanage and play ball.), survey to have some money, play out the gap year for P/T six years; travelling/climbing in New York, North Carolina, West Virginia, climbing to levels hoped for while practicing zen, me seeking a definition of the unutterable Zen Judaism, seeking, climbing some ice while being on thin ice in the dichotomy of games of risk/games of skill. subjective/objective dangers. Yes, some ice climbing to boot. I soloed 5.12 at Stone Mountain near a route called The Pulpit in app.1986-7 the same weekend a French party put up US's first roped 5.14. You get it don't you. I was doing what was worth writing about, writing about what was worth doing eventually. That was a facet of the diamond called "mastery of decision making, say academically/in business as operations research. These were early days of executive thining skills, develop talent, skills, competencies as in lion's share, practice a we program, yada, yada, ya ... , ... . Again while searching Google I found the creme d' l' creme of soloists, vid of a day of 5 12 solo work topped off w/ a roped 5.13. "Seems" after nearly thirty years the standard is an an interval of change/no change. Hmm?

The point, say? Really ... take care of your life, thorough, lion's share, robustness, outside the barrier reef of the beautiful people, sea creatures, study the animals to rock and roll the routes laughing bones of skill. Boldness has genius. It is just that at certain parlour games of the social animal of humankind/lovingkindness nature boldness is like the setting on a dryer, what being normal as nothingness has being, all sacred things most be unbounded ... and Bold (trademark apologies) is a soap, Boy and Girl Einsteins. Your craft/art/work/skills/energies/science/talents/genius lie through the journey of the gates, pilgrims, progressive say, through your decision making, not what is dealt to you, ... how one responds to one's environmental situation, the "work place," learning and labour. Take control of what you indeed have in your control, naming none, firstly the keyboard, better those nasty fun characters, where the jib becomes unfurled. More shall be revealed. Last week's feature on the Photo Gallery page was my shorter version of the pictures/images for an upcoming completion featuring guitarmaking. Please check it out. The images stock came out very clearly.
